One of the charities we work with very closely is CHICKS – Country Holidays for Inner City Kids. They are a locally-based organisation who provide respite breaks for disadvantaged children from all over the UK. Their scheme offers a fun and valuable experience for youngsters who might otherwise never get a holiday or experience the things other children take for granted.

Each child is able to escape the stresses of their city life for a six-day country holiday at either of the two CHICKS retreats in Devon or Cornwall. The break delivers a combination of outdoor activities, teambuilding, games and crafts, as well as some much-needed care, attention and counselling.

We have been a main sponsor of CHICKS since 2001. Due to their neighbouring locations, many of the Ginsters staff have assisted in the charity’s activities and fundraisers, too! With our help, CHICKS has been able to open a new centre at Par Sands, doubling its capacity and allowing hundreds more inner city kids to get a taste of Cornwall.
