Original cornish pasty

real cornish,
not cornish-ish!

We are delighted that the EU has granted Protected Geographical Indication status to the Cornish Pasty.

The PGI scheme is designed to protect regional foods that have a special reputation and heritage.

A genuine Cornish Pasty has a distinctive ā€˜D’ shape and is crimped on the side.

The filling must be made with fresh beef, potato, swede and onion, with a light peppery seasoning.

The whole pasty is slow-baked to bring out the full flavour of the fresh ingredients.

Genuine Cornish Pasties must also be made in Cornwall.

Ginsters Original Cornish Pasty follows this authentic recipe, which is why you will see the PGI symbol appearing on our packs.

We think this is good news for all Cornish Pasty lovers!
